This is Tina. I am an artist, an animator, a joker, and a laugher. I am not the best but I am not the worst either. And my goal is to be on top. These blogs are bringing you my greatest passion in life, which I hope you will enjoy. Nothing is as entertaining as images, both still and moving. So please, forget the real world and welcome to the world of imagination~

"When you really draw something, never fear to be BOLD, otherwise, it won't be that amazing~" Tina N.

P.S. Did I not tell you that I am also a writer? At some point it dawned on me that I do enjoy putting my imagination in texts, not just images. Oh joy!

World Cup 2014!!!

Finally the full drawing of soccer girls in action to celebrate the World Cup 2014!

Remember my drawing back in January 2013, when I just could not wait for the World Cup? I think I have improved! Yay!

This drawing is also a fun entry for the contest held by the anime community app called PaigeeWorld.
The requirements of the contest include drawing at least one of the PaigeeWorld original characters so the two girls with blue and purple hair are their characters, while the one with the brown pigtails on the left side of the drawing is me. This was also a great practice of digital coloring and shading for me since I know I am not good at digital coloring yet. But I got to learn a lot from doing several researches in order to complete this piece.

I had a great time working on this piece and I am very satisfied and happy with it. I hope you guys will like it as much as I enjoyed drawing it!

Here are the line work and WIPs:

 Line Art

 WIPs
I was experimenting with the different shading styles: flat cartoon vs. 3D realistic. I went with the flat one.

And here is a BONUS:

I wanted to see how my drawing would look like as a manga and this was the result. Pretty cool and fun eh? I really want to create a female futbol/soccer/football manga. (App used: Instamag)

And here is the drawing of a soccer girl I did back in January 2013:

It's not bad but I was not entirely happy with it either. I'm so glad that in the new one, I drew the girls in regular official World Cup jerseys, not leotards~ xD

Cheers for The WORLD CUP 2014!!!
Who are you rooting for?

Storyboards for Galactic Sandbox and Apple On Top Commercial

I did these about a year ago but totally forgot to share! These were for an ex-friend, who promised me a payment and never did so~~~ (hence, the title ex-friend). Anyway, at least these gave me more experience in storyboarding and quick story sketches. I'm quite happy with the results~

Complete storyboard for Galactic Sandbox

First pass and our most favorite panels

Complete storyboard for Apple On Top Commercial (Apple On Top is a Hookah bowl)

And below is the link to the the full commercial for the Galactic Sandbox. He only wanted me to do boards for a few scenes that need VFX of outer-space and the age transition of the main character in the video.

It seems like the commercial for Apple On Top was never made due to low budget. Well, too bad.

A couple random sketches~

Just for the fun of it :D

A sketch of a soccer (football/futbol) girl~

A quick chibi sketch since it seems like a lot of people like doing it so I figured I'd just follow the trend with this little doodle~

DAILIES (Yes I do dailies!)

I started doing dailies 2 weeks ago and I have made this a regular thing for me. I have so much fun doing quick sketches drawing whatever I want or feel like. Of course I try my best to make it varied, not just a bunch of drawings of sexy girls (I'm sure folks, especially male, would appreciate that but nuh~ :P) or just human beings. These dailies are supposed to improve my skill and develop my style to a new level. I am excited!

Tada!!!

Daily #1: Office Lady

Daily #2: I felt like eating ramen so this was the result...

Daily #3: Fan-Art of Kurogane Yaiba, the hero and main character of one of my most favorite mangas also called 'YAIBA' by mangaka Gosho Aoyama, the same mangaka that created Detective Conan.

Daily #4: I was at the library to focus on my projects and two girls were talking on the phone with another girl with the speakerphone on! How rude was that! I got so annoyed so I sketched out what I really wanted to do to rude people~

Daily #5: I just did not feel like drawing the 'homo sapiens' anymore, so a fat dragon was the result~

Daily #6: Then again, my passion to draw pretty girls will never fade away~ (Besides, who doesn't like pretty girls?)

Daily #7: I draw girls too much I need to brush up my skill of drawing men. I would, I really would draw his whole body, then again I could not find a perfect samurai pose for him and if I had, I would have preferred making it a masterpiece, not just a daily sketch, so I went ahead and sketched out his head-shot. Behold: the legendary Miyamoto Musashi, the greatest sword-master of Japan! Below is a WIP of this~

More daily sketches are coming soon, it will be pretty much everyday. If I don't post a daily one day, that can only mean either I am too busy on that day or too tired~

Happy Doodles!!! <3

I am back! / Pencil Drawings~

Hi folks!

Wow it has been forever!!! But no worries! I am officially back for good! (PROMISE!!!)

I have been drawing a lot and working on multiple projects at once. Super busy but I'm very happy, inspired, and motivated. I was on a long long hiatus after my graduation due to... life. I did post some little sketches and drawings during that time (and many times I said I would try to post more often but I did not... sorry!) but it was mainly to kill off my boredom at work, or just a very brief inspiration which did not last very long.

Now I am back for good and will produce lots of artworks as much as I can. I've been doing dailies pretty much everyday. This is to boost my creativity and improve/develop my skill. I have so much fun!

To start off my (finally) glorious comeback, here are a few pencil sketches, my drawings as transition from my hiatus to my current active and productive state (kaka~).

Hope you guys will like them!

A few squirrel sketches for a game I've been working on as a freelance. I kinda struggled because as you know I am not as good at drawing animals since I draw mainly humans. But this was such a good practice that I am so much more confident with drawing anything beside humans now. The final design will be reviewed after the game is released so stay tuned!

These are a few concept sketches I did for a new online interactive dress-up game. This will take a while since I need to finish the squirrel game first. This one does not require a tight deadline like the other one. I was trying for either realistic style or a bit more cartoon-ish style, and my client prefers the rather realistic look on her game so I will create more designs based on this concept.

Ha ha~ I admit that I play this app game called 'MOE Can Change' and this is a little drawing of my two 'myroids'. I am no longer very active on the game though due to my current busy state. I still play it once in a while so if you play it and want to check out my myroids, you can look up 'Tina' (there are a lot of Tina's unfortunately...) and search for the picture of a myroid with long blonde hair and blue eyes (both of my girls have long blonde hair and blue eyes, just different tones). Their names are BoA and Kara (based on my 2 favorite K-Pop artists).

BIG NEWS!!! I will start working on my first (not really first but this one will be consistent) manga. It is going to be an adult romance manga. No worries, I will try my best not to make it too cheesy but rather realistic. This is a drawing of the main characters, the main couple of the manga. Stay tuned!

Here are the head-shots of each of them. These are only concepts, not final designs.

Hope you had fun looking at my pencil drawings. No worries, more and more posts are coming right after this!

Thank you!

Another way to escape~

My life has been quite messy for the past few weeks. In fact, it already started back in the December of 2012.
I have been so busy with other stuff, I never actually got to do my own artwork nor continue my current in-progress story, which I would like to soon turn into an epic comic. But perhaps, last week might just have been one of the worst weeks I have ever experienced in my life. The consequence of such a bad week turned out to be... how can I put this... in control, however. Good thing I am not a negative individual nor a typical positive one that may drive everyone nuts. I am optimistic. But my optimism is driven by my own pessimism, believe it or not.
I was a total broke-down, until I got so sick of it, I decided to fix it.
I was so negative, I decided to keep it in the back of my mind, so I could bring forward the positive.
I would throw myself into the sea of low self-esteem, and slowly let myself sink without any effort of coming back up. And as soon as I touch the bottom, I would just go blank, relax, think of nothing. Until all of a sudden, I would turn into a rocket and fly straight up into the sky.
It may sound strange, but at some point, my pessimism is the motivation for my optimism. I see and accept the bad as a challenge for the good. I look at the reality to paint my own fantasy. And if it is going nowhere, I take it as a sign for 'time to relax!'
It is not totally an 'escape'. I am not running away. It is, in fact, the opposite. In order to 'escape' from the burdens that put me down, I would have to face it.
And that is another way of mine to keep my feet on the track.

This little sketch is simply another quick sketch. It did its job - keep my mind at peace.

Soccer Girl

I've been working on a short comic series, but suddenly I felt like drawing a soccer girl. I guess I can't wait for next year's World Cup 2014! If only there was a World Cup for female soccer, that would be cool.

Back with random doodles~!

Hi folks!

My apology for not updating my art blog for so long (since September 1st of last year sheesh!).

But I am back now and ready to jump on the tablet again! So many things happened the end of last year. I got a new job and it was like 2 hours away from my home so I had to move. I finally got a nice apartment but I had to furnish and decorate it, aside from getting busier and busier at work (which I like by the way, I enjoy being a busy bee, not a lazy pig, although being a lazy pig is really nice sometimes). So there, I got a good excuse for not updating my art blog!

Okay okay, boo for excuses, there should be no excuses at all for a little drawing and doodling! It should only take me what, 5 minutes to do a couple doodles~~~ not just for the fun of it but for joy and everyday practice. So guess what, I did doodle! (For some reason I prefer the term "doodle" than "draw" although there is a big difference between them, but "doodle" simply sounds more fun and free for me~~~ and that is how I feel about drawing.) I doodled a bunch of drawings at my work (sssshhh don't tell my boss... kaka). I drew random drawings and I also drew my co-workers! The people at work "discovered" my special doodling talent so they offered me to doodle on their quota boards. Oh joy!

So behold the doodles I have made at my work:

-Since the studio I've been working at is a 3D studio (it's StereoD by Deluxe!), there is no Photoshop or any special drawing software, unlike a Flash studio, so I just went ahead and used MS Paint (the classic) to fulfill my addiction (drawing/doodling!). At least I got my very own Wacom tablet, which makes everything much easier (although drawing with a mouse can be a great and exciting challenge). Since it is MS Paint, it is a challenge. There are no layers so I got to be extra careful to not make any mistakes, otherwise, I would have to start over and over after erasing it with the MS Paint eraser (Did you know? In my first English term, the British English, it's "rubber"). So here you go, my MS Paint portraits of my awesome StereoD folks!

The Commander

The Man

The Partner

The Sister

The Dude

-And a little exaggerated portrait of myself (you know sometimes you just feel like making yourself pretty~):

The Geek

-Before drawing all of those portraits above, I did experiment a little to see how well I can draw on MS Paint, and this was the result:

The Random Old Man
-Bonus drawing: a sexy chick~

-Eh~ not completely satisfied with it but I guess it is not too bad.

-Anyway, that is not it. MS Paint bored me at some point. So I thought to myself: "What brought me lots of joy in the first place? --- A pencil!" Of course, every basic doodle starts with it.The classic. The love. The unforgettable:

-But the eraser ran out (the dang rubber!), I decided to make it another challenge, doodle with a pen! That way, I forbade myself to make any mistakes:

That's all folks! Thank you!!! And one more thing...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!!! :)

It's still the first week of 2013 so it should not be too late to say it~~~

A little self-portrait doodle on a busy day...

I love working, especially when my work is related to my best interest at heart - art and animation :)

But you have to admit that at some point during the day when you're working, you gotta feel very tired and extremely sleepy somehow, especially when you are a very busy person who does not get more than 8 hours of sleep everyday. Sooo I am that person and in order to avoid that, I doodle. And this is the result:

Alright this may not be the best doodle I've done but I kinda like it, and I did have fun~
At least it kept me up for a little while~~~

Zzzzzzzz...

P.S. By the way, the doodle was inspired by the (AWESOME) animated series BLACK DYNAMITE, which I'm currently working for as a Production Assistant. I totally admire the style and get hooked with the story. You can check it out on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, at 11:30 pm. Make sure all the kids have already been put to bed before you can watch it~

When I become an accomplished artist...

... My mole shall have already grown a lot of very long hair.

Right after I posted my very "precious" self-artist-portrait - how I look when I'm drawing, my boyfriend asked me "So whenever you're drawing, your mole grows hair." Well, not exactly but... it is possible due to the excitement level in me when I'm drawing. And because of that, I was dreaming of how I would look when I am an accomplished artist. The more I draw, the better I become, the more experience I get, and the longer my mole hair grows. Well~ at least I have my own signature that proves that I am a successful artist.

Please behold Tina N.'s sign of talent~ very precious indeed~ :)

Thank you for your supports~ Cheers~ :D
